Hide preparation
Our hides are from local Sussex Deer. They pass through very few hands, just a family run farm and then to us
Sarah prepares the hides by hand with no harmful chemicals. Prior to slipping the fur and removing the fat from hides they are soaked in water containing hydrated lime. After the fur and fat has been removed the hides are then soaked in water containing acetic acid (vinegar) to neutralize the lime. The hides are then stretched on wooden frames and left to dry naturally.

All deer hides are costed according to size. Prices start from £60 per hide plus postage.
